Boaz Gardenhour started growing fruit in the Smithsburg area in the late 1890's. Boaz had four sons in which the two oldest
continued to run their father's operation together until 1940.
That same year the oldest, G. William Gardenhour bought
the land where our current location is today, while his brother Raymond remained on the original home farm.
Today, the forth
generation of Gardenhours still operate the farm along with family giving residents of the Smithsburg area and those that travel
from out of state fine fresh fruit for all to enjoy.
Pictured is one of the fifth generation Boaz Gardenhour descendants.
